The tradition of the Month
Please read the tradition of the Month:
Our common welfare should come first; personal recovery depends upon A.A. unity.
For our group purpose, there is but one ultimate authority—a loving God as He may express Himself in our group conscience. Our leaders are but trusted servants; they do not govern.
The only requirement for A.A. membership is a desire to stop drinking.
Each group should be autonomous except in matters affecting other groups or A.A. as a whole.
Each group has but one primary purpose—to carry its message to the alcoholic who still suffers.
An A.A. group ought never endorse, finance, or lend the A.A. name to any related facility or outside enterprise, lest problems of money, property, and prestige divert us from our primary purpose.
Every A.A. group ought to be fully self-supporting, declining outside contributions.
AA should remain forever nonprofessional, but our service centers may employ special workers.
AA., as such, ought never be organized; but we may create service boards or committees directly responsible to those they serve.
AA has no opinion on outside issues; hence the A.A. name ought never be drawn into public controversy.
Our public relations policy is based on attraction rather than promotion; we need always maintain personal anonymity at the level of press, radio, and films.
Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our Traditions, ever reminding us to place principles before personalities.
Information will be posted in the chat throughout the meeting.

Our Group Conscience Business meeting is on the last Saturday of the Month. Minutes are available on request via email.
Our meeting guidelines according to the group conscience:
We ask you to PLEASE keep your sharing from 2-3 minutes so more people have a chance to speak. The Host may give a gentle reminder if shares exceed this recommended time.
Hosts can limit or close the chat to keep it safe. We suggest using the direct message feature for conversations with an individual rather than addressing the entire group.
Hosts can turn off video if it is too distracting or inappropriate
Please refrain from off-color material, profanity, or crosstalk. Crosstalk is defined by AA as giving advice to others who have already shared, speaking directly to another person rather than to the group and questioning or interrupting the person speaking at the time.
Also, one of the co-hosts (NAME) will be available via the chat for any newcomer, people coming back, or anyone struggling that does not want to share with the entire group.

The Format of this meeting is we read a chapter each week, including the personal stories in the back of the book. If you would like to read, please raise your virtual hand using the Reactions tab and I will unmute you. Please read two to three paragraphs when I call on you. When we are done with the days reading we will open the meeting to sharing on what we have read, please again limit your share to three minutes. Most chapters in the first 164 pages are split. Tonight’s reading starts on page ___.
(For host – we start with the Doctors Opinion. The Doctors Opinion and Bills Story are read straight through. The First 164 pages and chapters are split – please refer to the list at the end of this format. At the start of each meeting, let the group know where we stop that night. )
During the Meeting:
7:50: Ask if there is anyone with an “Urgent Desire to Share” Please let the host know via chat or waving your hand. An urgent need means you are having a hard time staying sober or are having a desire to drink.
Interested in Service? WGAT has many opportunities to do service, and can also provide training. Service can be a crucial part of our recovery, there are many ways to do service and give back what was freely given to you. If you want to learn more, or you’re interested in service, please contact us at info@wgatvirtual.com.
7:55 Announce: Anyone with a year or more of sobriety willing to sponsor or speak with a newcomer please indicate your willingness by putting a virtual green check next to your name on the participant list.
