Confirm settings for CHAT are Open to HOSTS ONLY at the start of the meeting.

  • Monitor closely for any offensive entries and close them immediately if there are any signs of disturbance to the meeting.

  • Any host or co-host can close the chat at any time if it becomes unsafe or inappropriate.

  • Notify the host to remove anyone found to be an intruder disrupting the meeting.

  • Please send the host a message in the chat or wave at the screen anytime during the course of the meeting if you have an urgent need to share.

  • BURNING DESIRE: Please request to share by raising your hand on the screen or notifying the host via chat if you have a burning desire (which means you have an urgent need to share or having trouble staying sober.)

Check with the host then announce the chat is open for everyone to share.

  • The Chat is now open to everyone if it remains safe. We suggest using the direct message feature for conversations with an individual rather than addressing the entire group.

Use your discretion; if the meeting seems quiet without intruders the chat can be opened.

  • Anyone with a year or more of sobriety willing to sponsor or to speak with a newcomer please raise your hand or indicate your willingness by putting a virtual green check next to your name on the participant list.

Removing/Reporting Intruders

Removing/Reporting Intruders with offensive or inappropriate entries in the chat, audio, or video. Remove someone by clicking on the more tab next to their name or the 3 dots in the box on the screen.

  • For audio/video intrusions first click stop video and mute, then click on REMOVE or REPORT.

  • For chat intruders, hover over their name in the chat to confirm their identity, then to proceed to remove or report the same as above.

  • Notify the other hosts and co-host so they do not automatically allow them back in the room until you determine if they are a security risk.

Once removed they will be unable to return to the meeting unless they use a different device. If there is any question, you can also put them in the waiting room (which allows them to re-enter).
